Success is not final, failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts. – Sir Winston Churchill

Dear Sons and Daughters,

Keep dreaming!

And while you do, work hard to make your dreams a reality.

This is easier said than done. As you grow older, people will keep telling you that you can’t be firemen, astronauts or pilots. While it may certainly be true that becoming a super hero indeed isn’t a feasible option, it’s also true that nowadays your options are almost limitless. As long as you work hard and believe in yourself.

Don’t get me wrong – you will inevitably fail many times along the way. And you’ll keep changing your mind what you want to achieve, too… While it may have sounded exciting to become a zoo keeper when you were a kid, you may very well end up rather deciding to be a doctor or a teacher.

All that matters is that you never let people tell you what you CAN’T do. In fact, the older you get, the more often you will hear what you CAN’T do. Believe me, I know what I’m talking about. I faced quite a few hurdles in my life and what I learned was that the harder I worked, the more often I achieved my goals. Those ranged from getting good grades to doing well in sports. And whenever you fail, get up and try again. Don’t be stubborn, though. Always remain receptive to feedback. And when you succeed, remain humble. Don’t let success go to your head!

Remember what Winston Churchill said: “Success is not final, failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts.”

So keep dreaming!

About the Author

Born and raised in Munich, Germany, Robert Rebholz is a former consultant who quit his job in 2011 in order to pursue his lifelong dream of moving to the United States. Several months before his move to Los Angeles, he and two former colleagues decided to pursue their vision of solving the problem that kids grow but clothes don’t. This led to Alex and Sebastian also quitting their jobs to work on the project full-time. They have just taken what may be one of the most important steps yet in launching their online childrenswear (0-24 months) company: they launched a campaign that you can check out on Kickstarter.
